A 1950s cross.
This is a modern cross, probably made around 1950. The center scene appears to be Jesus, Mary and Joseph. The other scenes may represent different episodes from the life of Christ although it is hard to tell because they are so figurative and loosely depicted. Nevertheless, this cross had significant meaning to our customer. We decided to do something unique by cutting and assembling a fillet ( the decorative edge) in the shape of the cross. This was no easy task, I might add, but the outcome was extraordinarily attractive and our customer loved it!! When you want a distinctive look for your custom framing come to Artworks in Bridgeport.
