| When you have a unique three dimensional wire portrait, you want your framing to reflect the simplicity of the piece. We decided to use a modern, black frame with a deep rabbet (that refers to the depth of the frame) We chose a neutral sage mat. Similar to how hair bangs can frame a face, a mat helps highlight artwork by separating it from the frame and drawing attention to the piece. We felt this mat selection added the right amount of color to enhance and not distract from the art. We kept it simple by using only one mat. We finished off the framing by applying museum glass for total clarity when viewing the art.
