This balcony scene sends us back in time to an era where simplistic architecture could still flaunt some special detail. Not every person could have a building with tremendously ornate detail on it. That was usually reserved for the very rich. But there were all types of artisans who could create different types of architectural details and this is an example of a beautiful concrete design with a balcony. The stone building and it simplistic windows are offset by the detailed roofing on the balcony and the vision of all the joists exposed on the adjoining building adds a strong rustic balance. We can see a large, beautiful doorway partially hidden by the balcony railing and the deep shadows from underneath suggesting a mysterious area that we know nothing about. 

This original watercolor has been framed simply and has a double mat with a brownish gray top mat and a soft cream liner mat. The frame is simple with a mixture of charcoal and soft gold veining in it- classic and old worldly. All materials using the framing or conservation quality and include museum Glass, which protects from harmful UV rays and minimizes annoying and distracting reflections so that the painting looks as if there’s no glass on it whatsoever.
